To continueA pioneer dress and apron
This dress and apron, come from the civil war and pioneer era in America (160 years ago).
It has a pink and brown over sized check gingham dress with leg-o’-maton puffed sleeves.
The apron of dark brown canvas has the same neckline as the dress but is worn lower, off the shoulder.
The apron buttons to the waist in the back and is then open to the skirt ( such aprons were not only worn for work but on picnics, for shopping, and for other outdoor activities.)
At the wrists satin ribbons fastened with a brooch hold her sleaves tightly.
